Christine P. Richards, MD, FACOG
Dr. Richards attended medical school at a world-renowned college, McMaster University, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, after completing her Bachelor of Science degree in biology. She graduated from medical school in 1985 and completed a general comprehensive internship at Toronto Western Hospital, associated with the University of Toronto. She then returned to McMaster University to complete a residency in obstetrics and gynecology in 1990.
Dr. Richards then went into solo private practice in Hamilton, Ontario. While in practice there, she held the position of associate professor and participated in the teaching of residents and interns. She practiced there from 1991 until 1994, then moved with her family to Columbia, MD.
From 1994 until October 2000, Dr. Richards was part of Patuxent Medical Group, a multispecialty group of medical providers. In 2000, Dr. Richards formed a partnership with Dr. Marvin Davis and started Contemporary Health for Women, an integrated medical practice committed to wellness and preventive health for women at all stages of life. In January of 2004, Contemporary Health for Women merged with Capital Women's Care.
Dr. Richards is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She also holds fellowship at the Royal College of Providers and Surgeons of Canada (an achievement similar in Canada to board certification in the United States). She is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and has active admitting privileges at Howard County General Hospital.
Dr. Richards lives in Howard County with her husband and has two grown children. She enjoys travel and many outdoor activities, including hiking, skiing, scuba diving and cycling.
Marvin P. Davis, MD, FACOG
Dr. Davis received his Bachelor of Science degree from George Washington University in 1977 and his medical degree in 1981 from Meharry Medical College. He received his residency training at Franklin Square Hospital Center and Johns Hopkins Hospital. After residency, he completed his obligation to the National Health Service Corps in St. Louis, Missouri, where he was clinical attending physician for Washington University and St. Louis University ob/gyn residents and medical students.
In 1988, he joined Patuxent Medical Group, a multispecialty practice in Columbia, Maryland, where he remained until 2000 when he, along with Dr. Richards, formed Contemporary Health For Women. In 2004, the practice merged with Capital Women’s Care.
Dr. Davis is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is also a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a member of the Maryland State Medical Society and North American Menopause Society. He currently serves on the board of directors of Capital Women's Care as well as the board's executive committee. He recently completed a nine-year term on the board of trustees at Howard County General, a member of Johns Hopkins Medicine, and previously was appointed to and served on the Congressional Physicians Advisory Council.
As of August 1, 2015, after delivering well over 5,000 babies including several second generations, Dr. Davis has limited his practice to gynecology. His special interests include preventive and integrative women's health, menopause, bioidentical hormone replacement and anti-aging therapies. He is the first physician in Howard County to offer Ultherapy®, the only FDA-cleared procedure to noninvasively lift and tone the face, neck, chin and chest areas. Dr. Davis and his wife, Mariebel, are the proud parents of three children and two grandchildren.
Nicole D. Pilevsky, MD, FACOG
Dr. Pilevsky graduated with honors from Washington University in St. Louis with a degree in English literature. She received her MD from the Medical College of Pennsylvania, where she was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society.
Dr. Pilevsky completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in 1997. For four years, she was a member of the obstetrics and gynecology department at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey/Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. During her tenure there, she became the interim chief of the general division of obstetrics and gynecology and garnered several teaching awards.
She moved to Columbia with her family in 2003 and joined Capital Women’s Care Howard County in 2004. She is presently the vice chair of the obstetrics and gynecology department at Howard County General Hospital.
Dr. Pilevsky is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She has specialized training and interest in the management of abnormal uterine bleeding and Pap smears, contraception and laparoscopic surgery. She strives to help patients achieve comprehensive wellness. Since 2011, she has limited her practice to the care of gynecologic patients.
She has active admitting privileges at Howard County General Hospital. Dr. Pilevsky and her husband have three sons who keep them very busy. She enjoys outdoor activities, traveling and training for triathlons.
Mark A. Esposito, MD, FACOG
Dr. Esposito received his BA from Kenyon College, with honors in psychology and biology. He then earned his MD from Wright State University in Dayton, OH and completed his residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore. After completing residency, he spent the next 13 years in private practice delivering thousands of babies and caring for patients in Columbia, MD. During that time, Dr. Esposito also earned his MBA at Loyola University Maryland and was instrumental in the successful growth and operational development of that practice. In 2006, his practice merged with Johns Hopkins Medicine, and he served as its physician/practice administrator until 2011, when he joined Capital Women’s Care.
Dr. Esposito is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, a member of the Medical Group Management Association and the American College of Physician Executives. Dr. Esposito has specialized training in operative laparoscopy and ultrasonography and special interests in high-risk obstetrics and preventive health. In addition, he advocates complete health maintenance and patient involvement in their care. Licensed to practice medicine in Maryland, he has active admitting privileges at Howard County General Hospital.
Dr. Esposito and his wife, Rieyn, are actively involved in the busy lives of their two daughters and they enjoy biking, triathlons and the arts.
Michelle R. Seavey, MD, FACOG
Dr. Seavey received her BSc with distinction at the University of Oklahoma and her MD from the University of Oklahoma. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Jacksonville, and she was recognized with awards for teaching and research.
After residency, she moved back to her home state of Oklahoma, where she was in private practice for five years. She then received formal training in robotic surgery and maintained a busy obstetric and gynecologic practice. In the summer of 2012, she moved to Columbia and joined Capital Women’s Care.
Dr. Seavey is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She has specialized training in minimally invasive and robotic gynecologic surgery. Her other interests include obstetrics, adolescent gynecology and women’s health maintenance.
Dr. Seavey and her husband, Jonathan, had their first child in September of 2011. She enjoys spending time with her family, running, reading and baking.
Marc L. Chaiken, MD, FACOG
Dr. Chaiken received his MD from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore and his BS degree from College Park. He participated in a rotating medicine internship at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore and received his residency training in gynecology and obstetrics, along with a one-year gyn oncology fellowship, at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
After completing his specialty training in 1977, he moved back to Maryland and has lived and practiced in Howard County since. In 1985, Dr. Chaiken led other local physician leaders to create Health Care Professionals of Howard County, Inc. to help improve health care in the county and still serves as its president and chairman of the board.
Dr. Chaiken maintains admitting privileges at Howard County General, where he has previously served as chairman of the medical professional staff, and at St. Agnes Hospital of Baltimore.
He is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and has a special interest in minimally invasive surgery and office-based surgical procedures.
Dr. Chaiken was one of the first physicians in the United States to perform hysteroscopy, Essure sterilization and endometrial ablation in the office under local anesthesia. He is also trained and credentialed to perform robotic laparoscopic surgery and has participated on the faculty of numerous physician education programs, teaching other gynecologists the techniques of office hysteroscopy, and minimally invasive surgery, including vaginal and laparoscopic hysterectomy.
Jean C. Hundley, MD, FACOG
Dr. Hundley has been practicing medicine since 1987. She is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She 'graduated from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee and completed her residency at Howard University Hospital in Washington, DC. Dr. Hundley is a graduate of Hampton University.
She is the proud mother of three athletic sons, is a "sponsor mom" for US Naval Academy/Annapolis midshipmen, and is an avid golfer and skier.
Laura A. Burnham, CRNP
Laura graduated from Johns Hopkins School of Nursing with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. After nursing school, she was a labor and delivery nurse for six years. Ms. Burnham then went on to complete her graduate studies at the University of Maryland School of Nursing, with an MSc degree in women's health. She has practiced as a nurse practitioner in Howard County as well as at Johns Hopkins, over the past seven years.
Ms. Burnham's medical interests include well-woman's care, contraceptive counseling, adolescent health, colposcopy and obstetric care.
Besides being a nurse practitioner, Ms. Burnham is the proud mother of two sons. In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, building Legos and playing football with her sons.
Linda Follette, CRNP
Linda Follette has over 40 years of experience in women's healthcare, including labor and delivery post-partum and high risk prenatal care. For 17 years, she specialized in high risk maternal care at St. Peters University Hospital in New Jersey. In 2008, she moved to Annapolis, Maryland and has been working in an OB-GYN practice. She obtained her Masters in Nursing from Stony Brook University and her Women's Health Practitioner license in 2007, and her Bachelors in Nursing from the University of Bridgeport, CT in 1976. Linda currently resides in Annapolis, near her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren. Her interests outside the office include quilting, sewing, and baking yummy things for her grandchildren.
Sandra M. Wittholz, CRNP
Sandra Wittholz is a native of Mt. Pearl, Newfoundland, Canada. She received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing, with honors from the University of Kentucky and her Masters of Science in Nursing with a major in Women's Health from the University of Cincinnati. In 2002 she was awarded her Women's Health Nurse Practitioner Certificate from NCC; she was then licensed as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner-OB/GYN through the Maryland Board of Nursing in 2003 when she relocated to the state.
With over 20 years nursing experience, she has focused on Women's Health since 1997. Her previous work experience includes a position at Howard County General Hospital where she was a labor and delivery nurse. She is a member of the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women's Health.
Sandra is an avid runner enjoying everything from 51Cs to full and half marathons. She and her husband, Mark, are the proud and busy parents of two children.
Dr. Melanie McDowell grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia, where she majored in biology. She completed her medical education at Eastern Virginia Medical School. She then moved to Baltimore, where she completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at University of Maryland Medical Center. She has been in practice for the last four years in Baltimore County.
Dr. McDowell enjoys all aspects of obstetrics and gynecology, including contraception management, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, preventive medicine and patient education.
Dr. McDowell lives in Howard County with her husband and two young boys. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading and cooking.
